BYKIDS HOSTS A FUNDRAISING DINNER AT CARBONE

It was a night to remember at Carbone! We were thrilled to screen a rough cut of our newest BYkids film made by a 12-year-old in Nicaragua who’s coffee growing family is being devastated by climate change. Pulitzer Prize-winning Robert Semple of The New York Times joined us to talk about these issues over dinner. Thanks to the generosity of these 33 supporters we are well on our way into Season Two on PBS.

DISPLACED BUT NOT DEFEATED FEATURED AT CHICAGO’S COOK COUNTY JUVENILE DETENTION CENTER

Congratulations to Maria Ceballos and mentor Susan Hoenig! DISPLACED BUT NOT DEFEATED was featured at noon on Saturday, June 11th as part of the 2016 Global Girls Festival. The event was curated by female residents of the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center who “found the film truly compelling.”

We were honored to share our work on stage with inspired colleagues including Tribeca Film Institute, National Association for Media Literacy Education (NAMLE), Scenarios USA, Children’s Media Association, Global Nomads Group and Global Kids.
