Launching Our First Film Development Fund

BYkids launches a global open call, the first Film Development Fund, inviting young people ages 13–18 to submit documentary ideas focused on climate action. The selected storyteller will receive a $1,500 award and mentorship from BYkids filmmaker Susan Hoenig to develop their project. Applications closed on April 22 and the finalist will be announced in June 2026. The jury includes Carl Adams (real estate), Mark Bailey (filmmaker), Susan Bissell (Former UNICEF Head of Child Protection), Mackenzie Feldman (Re:wild Your Campus), Ross Kauffman (filmmaker), Rory Kennedy (filmmaker and climate activist), David Sandalow (climate expert), Sharona Shnayder (youth climate activist), Lina Srivastava (film activist) and Jon Stahl (BYkids funder and filmmaker).
